Holiday Beauty Essentials

My holiday is fast approaching and I’m soooooo excited! I haven’t been on a relaxing beach holiday in 2 years so it’s definitely due. When it comes to packing beauty products I don’t hold back; considering we have hold-all luggage I’m pretty much putting as many products in as my bag will allow. It’s not that I need that much, it’s just I like to have a variety so I can create any look depending on what mood I’m in. The majority of these are tried and tested as I like to bring products that I trust and know will work for me!

For base make up I want to keep it very light, fresh and dewy looking. I never wear anything full coverage in hot weather because I hate how it feels on my skin. I have a range of colours with me which I can mix together when I become more tanned so I don’t look all ghost face. I have still brought powder with me as even when it’s hot my under eyes need to be set. It doesn’t matter where I am, they still crease on me!

Bronzers and highlighters are an absolute MUST for me to take on holiday. What better to enhance your natural holiday radiance than with a bit of glow? I’m bringing a good selection with different finishes and colours so I can change it up from day to day.

For eye make up I’m keeping it quite basic, I don’t tend to go for overly dramatic eye make up on holiday; more so neutral shimmers that will look gorgeous in the sun. The eyeshadow palette I’m bringing is the Kylie Cosmetics “Take Me On Vacation” palette full of gorgeous summer shades including a stunning electric blue shimmer which I am determined to use at some point!

The one product I can’t really hold back on is lip products. You just can’t be sure what kind of lip you fancy wearing until you’re suited and booted ready to go out. I’m bringing some lipsticks, liquid lipsticks and glosses so I definitely won’t be short for choice.

If you’re looking for a summer fragrance than look no further than Estée Lauder’s Bronze Goddess, it is divine! It smells like summer holiday in a fragrance and I am completely obsessed; so much so I also got the shimmering body oil and body cream. Not only does layering these products help the fragrance last longer but the shimmer in the body oil makes any tan look gorgeous. As if that wasn’t enough, I’m also taking the Iconic London Prep Set Glow shimmer setting spray so I can be glistening from head to toe!

Normally when I’m on holiday I pretty much let my hair do it’s thing; however I will be bringing my hair straighteners and curlers just in case so I’ll also throw in some hair spray and curl fixing spray. Because my hair is coloured I also like to look after it before and after I’m in the sun. The Tigi Beach Bound spray is great for protecting coloured hair in the sun and the Beach Freak spray will put back in the moisture afterwards. I’m also very excited to try out the Maui Coconut Oil Mist, if it performs as good as it smells then I think I’m onto a winner.

It goes without saying that you must always wear sun protection, not just on holiday but anytime your skin is going to be exposed. Personally, I’ve always been a fan of the Garnier Ambre Solaire range. I like the dry mist as it absorbs quickly and I love a tanning oil to help me get some colour. I tan very easily so I find an oil with SPF15 is fine for me, if you are more prone to burning then I would stick with a higher SPF sun cream. When I comes to my face I ALWAYS wear SPF50, the sun is one of the main causes of premature skin aging and I’m not taking any risks of burn. I am also very very excited to try the After Sun Tissue Masks, what a genius idea!
