Review: Makeup Revolution x Soph Collection

You know me, a collection from a high street brand that doesn't break the bank? I am all over it! The collection in question is a collaboration between high street make up brand Makeup Revolution and YouTuber Sophie Does Nails. Having watched many of her videos in the past I was very excited for the collection as the products looked beautiful and together they only came to £18.

This eyeshadow palette is stunning! The colour selection is great and there is a mixture of mattes and shimmers. There are so many looks that can be done with this palette; you'd easily be able to go from day to night. Some of the colours are quite bright so maybe if you're a neutral kinda person it may not be the palette for you; but if you're in an adventurous mood then this would be perfect. It will also be great for travel, I'll definitely be putting this in my make up bag when I go away.

The shadows themselves, for the most part, are very pigmented. I did have a little problem with the lighter colours. I think you can tell looking at my swatch pictures that they aren't as intense as the darker ones. The white in particular didn't really show up at all so layering them is a must. That being said the darker ones had really good pay off. They were all slightly on the powdery side and it took a bit more effort to blend. But they definitely did get there and looked really nice on the eye.

I am in love with the highlighter palette. I found they all had really good pay off and were very reflective. I also think they've included a really nice range of colours that would suite many skin tones. I wouldn't necessarily use them all myself, maybe the darker ones I'd use as eyeshadows. But even so the palette only costs £8 so I still think it's worth it.

Overall I think they've done a really good job with these products, they aren't limited edition (I don't think) so you can get them any time and they are available on Superdrug and Tam Beauty. If you are on a budget then I would definitely recommend these. They are nice products for such a decent price. What's not to like?
