My Paris Beauty Travel Bag

Wednesday, 5 April 2017

I realise I only did this a couple of weeks ago for my trip to Stockholm, but my weekend in Paris is going to be quite different so I will be packing different products. I don’t know if I’ve mentioned but Sam and I are going to run the Paris Marathon. It feels like yesterday when we booked our spots and now here we are only a few days away; I think it’s safe to say I’m a tad nervous. Anyway, in comparison to my Stockholm beauty bag I’m definitley not focusing too much on make up but making sure I have all the body care I need to help me prepare and recover from the marathon. Also, as we’re travelling on the Eurostar there’s no limit on the liquids we can pack which means I don’t have to be so strict on what I take. Although I’ll still try to make sure I don’t just pack any old thing. Seriously I will!

The most important product that I’m taking with me is probably the Clarins “Relax” Bath & Shower Oil. I’ve not used this before but I’ve heard great things about the Clarins oils and this one in particular is meant to relax muscles. The hotel room we’ve booked has a bath and I can’t think of anything better after running a marathon then soaking in the bath with this bath oil. I’ve also packed the Tony Moly Bamboo Cool Water Soothing Gel. I’ve used this before as a sort of “after sun” treatment but I thought it would be good to take it as the weather looks like it’s going to be pretty sunny and hot the day of the marathon. This product will be great at cooling me down after spending the majority of the day in the sun. Speaking of the sun, I’ve also made sure that I’ve packed sun cream; when it’s really hot I like to use factor 50 on my face. I don’t like to take any chances when it comes to sun protection, especially as I get older I want to protect my skin from premature ageing, which the sun is very good at causing!

Products Featured: First Aid Beauty 5 in 1 Eye Cream, Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Toner, La Roche Posay Anthelion XL Lotion SPF 50, Lancôme Bi-Facil Eye Make Up Remover, Advanced Génefique Serum & Visionnaire Moisturiser, Mario Badescu Facial Spray & Topshop The Airbrush Primer.

Even thought there are no liquid limits on Eurostar, I’ve still tried to pack as many travel sized products as I can; we’ll only be there a few days so there’s still no point packing everything full sized. My trusty TIGI shampoo and conditioner is going which makes me so happy. For cleanser I will be trying a new product which I received in a Birchbox subscription (read Birchbox Blogs here, here & here), the Caudalie Make-Up Removing Cleansing Oil with Grape & Sweet Almond. I love cleansing oils and grape and sweet almond really speaks to me for some reason so I’m hoping it will work for me.

Products Featured: Clarins Relax Bath & Shower Concentrate, Jack Wills Hope Cover Body Wash, Lotion & Spray & Tony Moly Bamboo Cool Water Soothing Gel.

I probably don’t need to take body wash with me but I thought I might as well add it to my bag, I’m really loving this Jack Wills body wash in particular which was part of a set I got for Christmas (read about it here). The whole collection smells amazing, especially the body mist, and will definitely help me feel fresh when the weather's a lot warmer. I also thought I’d wear the body mist on the day of the marathon to help me smell nice for as long as possible, instead of using perfume. Although I haven’t put deodorant in the pictures I think it goes without saying that I’ll be taking some with me!

Products Featured: Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz & Clear Brow Gel, Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze & Glow Palette, Benefit Rollerlash Mascara & Eyelash Curlers, Carmex Lip Balm, Clinique Crayola Chubby Stick in “Melon", Garnier Anti-Dark Circles Concealer, Guerlain Terracotta Bronzer, Kylie Cosmetics Liquid Lipstick in “Moon", Lancôme Miracle Air De Teint Foundation, Grandiôs Liquid Liner & L’Absolu Rouge Lipstick in “Rose Lancome”, Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Powder, Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer, MAC Lip Liner in “Soar”, Topshop Brighten Illuminator in “Moonlight”, Glow Stick in “Spotlight” & Lip Liners in “Ceramic” & “Wheels on Fire” & Victoria Beckham for Estee Lauder Kajal Eyeliner and Eyeshadow Palette.

As always as this is a tourist/active weekend away I’m not going overboard with make up. Whilst I’m running I'll be wearing the absolute minimum; I’ll probably sweat it all off but I want to try and look at least half presentable for a nice picture at the end of the race. The Garnier Anti-Dark Circles Concealer is perfect at making me look alive without using too much product. For the rest of the time everything else I’m taking is still pretty light on the skin, the foundation in particular is light coverage, just thinking about how warm it’s going to be so I don’t want anything too heavy on my face. Of course I’ve added a bold lipstick in there, I just can’t help myself! If you were wondering what’s in the little Lancôme pot it’s actually Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Powder, I just can’t be bothered to take the giant pot.

I’m getting very excited about Paris, I’ve always wanted to go there and after all the training I’ve done for the marathon I can’t wait to cross that finish line - wish me luck!
