Having dry, sensitive skin during winter is a bit of a nightmare. I have to use richer creams to keep my skin nourished during the cold temperatures but nothing too rich that will make my skin react. If I don’t keep up with my skin care routine during winter, my skin can become so dry and flakey that it's uncomfortable and not a very good base for make up. As I said, nightmare. I decided to try a few new products this winter which you could say was a risk as I had no idea if they would work for me; however, fortunately I was not disappointed.
For exfoliator, I’ve been using the La Roche-Posay Ultrafine Scrub. It’s true when it says “ultra fine” and, as it is advertised as for sensitive skin, I was confident this was going to work well. I did find it weird that it didn’t foam up at all; of course it doesn’t say anywhere that it will but I quite like it when it does as it makes me feel like it’s giving my face a proper clean. That being said, it didn’t bother my skin at all and left my skin feeling clean and soft.
To cleanse my face I’ve loved using the Garnier Oil-Infused Micellar Water. I’ve done an entire blog post about how much I love this (read it here) it cleanses skin well and keeps skin soft and nourished. For my eyes the Garnier Express 2 in 1 Eye Make Up Remover has worked really well. It might seem outrageous but I’ve actually never used a separate eye make up remover before. I’ve always just removed eye make up with the same product as the rest of my face. But I felt the time was right to invest in a remover specifically for eyes and see how it worked for me. I really liked this cleanser, again it is oil infused so it felt really nice on the eyes and removed eye make up really well. It is also really affordable so there are no complaints from me.
For toner I’ve been using Kiehl’s Calendula Herbal-Extract Toner, I love this toner so so much. It looks a bit strange because there's weird plant things floating in it but it works so well. I was really surprised at how soft my skin was even after the first use. It also has the seasonal packaging so felt it was the perfect time to use it.
For some extra pampering I’ve been using Sunday Riley Artemis Oil, I have also done a post about how amazing this oil is (read it here) so don’t think there is much more to say! To keep my face moisturised I’ve used Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream, this was a product that I had seen featured in a lot of top 10 lists so was quite confident it would work for me. It also has the same seasonal packaging as the toner so thought it was very appropriate to use it. I found it rich enough to keep my skin moisturised but not too rich to irritate my skin. Would definitely re-purchase!
I feel my skin is staying in really good condition this winter and that is thanks to all these products!
