Review: Ouai Repair Shampoo & Conditioner

Wednesday, 30 November 2016
I’m always on the look out for any hair products that can tame my wild locks so when I saw that Jen Atkin, hair stylist to the Kardashians, had started her own brand I thought that I must have stumbled on a winner. I have no idea what “ouai” means or how on earth to pronounce it but first impressions on the packaging I think it looks very high quality. One thing that does confuse me is that the shampoo comes in a 300ml bottle (£22) and the conditioner comes in a 250ml bottle (£20), I don’t know about you but I always go through conditioner way quicker than shampoo because I need a lot more of it as my hair is so thick. So for me I would prefer having a bigger conditioner bottle than shampoo.

Ouai Hair Care

On first use I wasn’t crazy about the smell of the shampoo, it had undertones of Grandma’s house which I’m personally not a huge fan of. I found the conditioner smelt a lot nicer and that was the scent my hair smelt of for the rest of the day, although I wasn’t bowled over by it. That being said, I am IN LOVE with this duo. My hair is the softest I think it has ever been in my entire life. Which is saying something since I choose to destroy my hair with bleaching sessions. Honestly I couldn’t stop putting my fingers through my hair throughout the day it just felt sooo sooooft. I also found it took longer to get greasy, sure I did put a spray of dry shampoo on it in the mornings but I usually can’t get away with leaving it any longer than 2 days without washing. I get it, £42 is a lot of money to spend on shampoo and conditioner, although you don’t need a lot of it per use it should last you a long time it’s still a lot of money. But I will say that you definitely get amazing products that are really worth every penny. I’ve only been using it for just over a week and saw the benefits after one wash, I’m so excited to see what happens after longer use!
