My New Kylie Cosmetics Lip Kits & Swatches

Sunday, 27 November 2016
A while ago I did a review on the Kylie Lip Kits (which you can read here) and I think it’s fair to say I’m a teeny bit obsessed. I’m really loving Kylie’s range of colours, she seems to be bringing out new colours every month and she has built up quite the collection. I decided to buy Leo, Trick and Pumpkin. I realise a couple of these were released as “Autumnal” shades but I actually think all 3 could look quite festive. Why not embrace Autumnal colours throughout winter as well? (especially when you’ve spent a fair bit of money on them).

Leo

I reckon out of all lip colours dark reds are what I wear most of the time, especially warm toned colours which I find really suit my skin tone. The colour of Leo is just gorgeous! I think for anyone who wants to be a bit different and stay away from the bright red colours, this would be a lovely Christmas Day colour. With the previous dark colours from Kylie lip kits, I found they could be a little bit streaky, however I didn’t get that with Leo. I though it was very pigmented and applied evenly.

Trick

I was very interested trying Trick in particular as green lips are a bit “out there” but this colour is such a beautiful deep shimmery forest green I think it will look amazing on any skin tone. I also think you could get away with it more than a bright lime green or something similar. If you are slowly getting into the unusual lip colours, Trick would be a good place to start. I think when Trick is matched with a gold shimmery eye it gives a really nice look and keeping the eyes simple will make it a little less crazy for some. Trick was the only shade of the 3 that I found was a little bit streaky at first and it took a couple of layers to get full intensity.

Pumpkin

Pumpkin is not dissimilar to 22, another Kylie lip kit I own, however it is more orange. I really liked the look of this colour; like Leo, the pigmentation was really good and only needed one layer for intense colour. Orange isn’t a colour I wear a lot and I don’t own many orangey coloured products but I really liked Pumpkin and am glad I can add it to my collection. I added a little bit of green eyeshadow to the inner corners and the crease for a bit of extra colour, as this colour isn’t too bold you could definitely get away with wearing a more dramatic eye.

As I said in my previous blog, I really like the Kylie Cosmetics liquid lipsticks and would recommend them. Also before I purchased them the shipping prices had changed and it was free international shipping for orders over $60 which was brilliant (not sure if this is permanent or for a limited time). I just wish she would include custom charges in the price as it’s quite annoying being charged around £20 after you’ve waited almost 2 weeks for them to be delivered. I don’t know about the regulations for delivery charges but I’ve ordered from the USA before and not had any custom charges so why can’t it be for every American website delivering to the UK? Hopefully it might change as I’ll definitely be ordering more products from Kylie Cosmetics in the future!
