My Current Make Up Storage

Friday, 11 November 2016
I suppose you could say I have quite a large make up collection, but to me it's actually quite small! When you’re as obsessed with make up as I am and are constantly purchasing products to try, your collection is never big enough. I used to have just one make up bag but as my collection started to grow, I bought these drawers from Amazon to organise it. One day I would like to buy proper make up storage like those lovely clear plastic drawers, but for now, these will do just fine (plus they were cheap).

Make Up Drawers
Make Up Drawers

As you can see there are four drawers. In the top three drawers I also put in trays that I bought from Amazon which have smaller sections so I can separate and categorise the products. Yes I have a slight OCD when it comes to organising things! It makes it so much more convenient and easier to find the products that I’m looking for. When I did only one make up bag, I found myself emptying it every time I needed something because it was so hard to find anything!

Face Products Drawer

The top drawer is where I keep all my face products including foundations, concealers, powders, bronzers, blushers and highlighters. I like to have foundations and concealers in different colours as my face tans quite easily and can change tone from day to day so I may need to mix a couple of colours together to match my face. I also like to have different foundations with different coverages as, depending on the occasion, I might want a heavy or light coverage.

Eye Products Drawer

The second drawer down is for all eye products including mascaras, eye liners, cream eye shadows, single eyeshadows, eyebrow pencils and false lashes. I always have a collection of mascaras as I rarely leave the house without it, even if I have no other eye make up on I always make sure I’m wearing mascara!

Lip Products Drawer

The third drawer down (probably my favourite) is where I keep all my lip products. I fear one day soon I’m going to run out of room in this drawer as I just can’t stop myself buying new lip colours. It includes my lipsticks, lip liners, liquid lipsticks, lip balms and a couple of lip glosses. Whatever make up look I’m doing I will always wear a lip colour. Bold, bright or nude, I just love wearing lipsticks and think they can really complete a look.

Palettes & Setting Spray Drawer

The fourth and final drawer features my palettes, primers and setting sprays. I used to keep my eyeshadow palettes in the eye products drawer but they didn’t fit anymore. I am completely obsessed with palettes, I just love having multiple products or colours in one compact. I’m also a sucker for good packaging and brands are really stepping up their game when it comes to what their products look like. They're also great to travel with as you can have a number of different products in one easy to pack product.

I would recommend using drawers for make up as it makes all the products easy to access and also easy to find when you categorise them. Some make up looks can take time to create so anything that will make doing make up easier is good in my book!
