Current Nighttime Skin Routine

Thursday, 6 October 2016
Actually, I have only recently created a nighttime routine for myself. Before I started reading blogs and watching youtube videos about skincare I used to only have a couple of products on the go at once. What a fool I was! Of course I’m joking, there is nothing wrong whatsoever with using the same products morning, noon and night. Personally I had read so much about night cream that I just wanted to try some for myself and see what impact it had on my skin. I will be honest, I don’t do this routine every night, sometimes if I’ve had a particularly strenuous day at work I can’t be bothered to do anything other than eat, shower and get into bed.

Nighttime Skincare Products

I know it may seem excessive (and a lot of these products are well used) but each product has its own purpose and, as I said before, I don’t use all these every night, the only products that I will definitely use every night is one of the cleansers and a moisturiser. If I am doing the full routine then I start with a cleanser, obviously, either the Kiehl’s Rare Earth Deep Pore Cleanser or the Garnier Micellar Water. Although I don’t wear make up to work currently, looking good isn’t something you worry too much about when working with children, I still like to cleanse my face to get rid of any dirt or grime that has built up during the day. I then use the Rituals Refreshing Facial Toner which I really like, it smells really fresh and leaves my skin nice and soft.

Sometimes if I’m going all out, I’ll use the Ole Henriksen Truth Serum Collagen Booster, this is quite pricey but a little bit goes a long way. This is definitely something I will re-purchase, it just makes my skin feel so firm and tight and makes make up apply like a dream! One product I am unsure about is the Yes To Grapefruit Pore Perfection Night Treatment. It smells delicious but, after using it for a few weeks now, I haven’t noticed a major difference in my skin and after applying it actually feels quite sticky, which I don’t really like. I want to see it through but I don’t think I’ll buy it again.

For my eyes I use Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Eye, I really do rate Kiehl’s products and love how this eye lotion smoothes my under eye area and keeps it moisturised. This is the first eye product I’ve bought from Kiehl’s but after using these I’d definitely like to try some others. The last thing I like to do before bed is apply lip balm, I love Nivea lip balms they are so nourishing and come with some great scents. My lips can get dry quite quickly especially when the weather's getting colder, so I always like to make sure my lips stay hydrated.
